Psychological science fiction
D.N. Mitchell
Stories about power, comfort, and the people who keep the lights on.
About
D.N. Mitchell writes psychological science fiction: closed worlds, impossible choices, and the quiet arithmetic of who gets what. The stories keep circling one question. How much will we accept for the sake of comfort, and what would it take to push back?
Mitchell learns by doing. The first story began at a kitchen table, over a card game that went further than anyone meant it to, and the lesson stuck: anyone handed all the power, even someone trying to be kind, can turn faster than they think.
Before fiction came a career spent designing how other people learn, which turns out to be good training for putting a reader in someone else's shoes and leaving them there a little too long.
The name is a thank-you. Every initial belongs to someone who made the stories possible.
